Today I’m going to share the recipe of tomato chicken / chicken in spicy tomato gravy…which is made up of tomatoes.so it’s a delight for tomato lovers…tomato chicken / chicken in spicy tomato gravy is made up with only some easily available spices…so you don’t even need to go to the market.this tomato chicken / chicken in spicy tomato gravy can be served with rice,roti,paratha and even naan also…you can get this by the name of thia restaurant style tomato chicken / chicken in spicy tomato gravy will be a little spicy.
- Boneless chicken (500gm)
- Tomato (2 big)
- Onion (2 big)
- Ginger (1 whole medium sized)
- Ginger (2 inch)
- Red chili powder (2 teaspoon)
- Turmeric powder (3/4th teaspoon)
- Cumin powder (1 teaspoon)
- nutmeg powder (1/4th teaspoon)
- Whole cardamom (4-5)
- Whole cinnamon(2-3sticks)
- cloves (4-5)
- Salt (as per taste)
- Sugar (1/2 teaspoon)
- Refined oil (3 tablespoon)
- To make spicy tomato chicken / chicken in spicy tomato gravy we need to make the smooth paste of the spices.
- For that take 2 big sized tomatoes,2 onion,ginger and garlic in a mixer and make a smooth paste.don’t add water.
- Now take the boneless chicken and cut them into small pieces.clean them well.
- Let’s start our tomato chicken / chicken in spicy tomato gravy…For that heat a pan and add 3 tablespoon of refined oil in it.
- Now after the oil get hot.add the whole spices like cardamom,cinnamon and cloves.
- When the aroma comes out add the paste of onion,ginger,garlic and tomatoes.cook it well in medium flame for about
- 10-15 minutes or till the raw smell goes out.
- Now its time to add the dry spices…add the turmeric powder,red chili powder and cumin powder in and cook them till it starts releasing oil.
- Now its time to add the chicken pieces in and add the salt as per your taste.cover the pan and cook the chicken in a low flame.
- Check the chicken after the interval of 8-10 minutes till the chicken gets soft…otherwise it will burn…
- Now add the nutmeg powder and 1/2 teaspoon of sugar…The sugar will help to cut the sourness of the tomatoes.
- When the chicken is soft and the grave starts releasing oil,switch off the do flame and serve it hot with rice,roti, paratha or naan…
- You can add some chopped coriander to the dish.it will enhance the flavour. Enjoy your lunch or dinner with the delicious tomato chicken / chicken in spicy tomato gravy.
